If you're in California and looking to get some wind in your hair while you do your part, there's still time to register for the Young Survival Coalition's Tour de Pink West Coast bike ride and fundraiser.
As for me, every day this month I will be sharing breast cancer-related resources, information and events on all the social network accounts you see at the top right corner of this website, as well as on my Instagram page and right here on the blog.
What I'm most excited about is that this year, Young Survival Coalition is celebrating a big birthday: 15 years! YSC was formed in 1998 by three women, all diagnosed with breast cancer before age 35, who "saw the need for better information, support and research for young women facing this disease...and did something about it."
I first learned about YSC when I was going through my own surgeries for DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) and started searching for stories about other women who had already had a similar experience. Some of the best resources and information that got me through that time were shared with me by the beautiful, strong, generous women I met at the Young Survival Coalition's monthly support group meetings in Manhattan.
I can't say enough good things about the work this organization does to provide support, education and empowerment to young women affected by breast cancer. Look for my tweets every day this month as I share with you all the invaluable resources YSC has to offer!
